Britney Spears may be getting ready to put the “SOLD” sign in front of her Studio City, CA mini-estate, RadarOnline.com has learned.  The pop star bought the property almost on a whim in December, 2006, right after splitting from husband Kevin Federline.  It’s where the likes of Sam Lutfi and dozens of friendly paparazzi hung out, and is where Britney was forcibly removed by police and paramedics the night she refused to turn son Jayden over to his dad.

Britney paid $7.2 million for the five bedroom, 6 1/2 bath house in the gated community called The Summit. It features a library, media room, and pool.  It’s been on the market since October, 2008. with a steadily declining list price.  The estate — and all its memories — is finally in escrow, sources say, for just under $6.3 million.

At least Brit’s making a ton of money on her world tour.

Calling all ultimate Britney Spears fans! The pop star’s Italian Renaissance-inspired villa is still up for sale, and is going for a lowly $6.5 million. We know what you’re thinking, but that’s the lowest price ever listed for the property, which Brit first put on the placed on the market in September for $7.9 million, E! reports.

The six-bedroom, six-bath, 7,5000 square-foot home in the gated community of Summit near L.A. was the scene of many of her public meltdowns in 2008, which could have stuck in the public’s mind. Britney originally purchased the house for $7.1 million in 2007. She’s since moved on to leasing a 10,300-square-foot home in Calabasas.

An hour, to be exact!

Brit’s ex-hubby drove to her Summit home this afternoon, and rather than grabbing the boys and speeding off, K-Fed spent some time catching up with the pop princess before he took Jayden James and Sean Preston for the weekend. Brit got home from Louisiana yesterday, so it’s good to see the former couple visiting with one another, even if it’s only for 60 minutes.

LYNNE TALKS HEARTACHE
Lynne Spears says her new book was “never” intended to be a parenting book. Instead, she says it’s a set-it-straight book in an interview with Meredith Vieira this morning on Today.

Referring to the last decade with daughter Britney, Lynne says: “It’s been a whirlwind. It’s been a wild ride for everybody.” And not always a happy ride. “I have sat for hours thinking and thinking about everything that happened.” She says Brit’s rise to fame – “17 paparazzi assigned to her 24/7″ – was added to “heartache” and the result: “… the mixture’s just not healthy.”

So, does she blame herself? Yes, “The personality I am – it’s always my fault,” but she adds that “Britney pushed me.”

Lynne was a preschool teacher in Louisiana and little Brit wanted to sing and dance, so off they went to New York. “I tried to be with Britney as much as I could but when she was 15, 16 years old. I had to stay home ‘cuz Jamie was in school. Another misconception was I was always with Britney, but I wasn’t.”

When asked whether she should have tried to be with her, Lynne said, “You can say shoulda, woulda, coulda. … Did I want to be there? Of course. But was it feasible?”

As for Brit’s famous meltdown? “It was so crazy at that time. … We were just trying to do what we could do at that moment at that time. We were praying very hard. We had no control over what was happening. We were making phone calls, we were trying to get through. … I said, if you see my behind going over the wall at The Summit (where Britney lives), it’s my last drastic measure.”

Luckily, it’s a case of all’s-well-that-ends-well for the Spears clan. She just spent the weekend with her daughters in L.A. and, “Britney’s fine. Britney is resilient.”

Lynne parting promise? “She is headed to the top once again.”
