Phyllis Jager hits a home run with her ground-breaking book depicting the “real” truth about Britney Spears. A hard-hitting, truth-telling, expose written not just about a mega-star but about a greed-filled society who tried to kill her! A must read!
Phyllis Jager’s new expose investigates the recent horrifying events in the life of Britney Spears and exposes them for all their calamity. “Why have we reduced Spears from teen starlet to Hollywood harlot?” asks Jager. The ethical and legal issues surrounding Spears’ continuing harassment are explored. “From the public cameras that spy on us all,” reads the jacket summary, “to the right of a mother to be with her kids, from the antics of the paparazzi to the secrets of fortune and fame, from the psych ward to the silver screen, this is the story of a woman who had done nothing wrong and the hunger of a lonely Nation that put her on a pedestal, and pushed her off the edge.” The Truth About Britney Spears is now available for sale at barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com, and other major online booksellers worldwide.
Phyllis Jager is an accomplished journalist, screenwriter, and he author of more than four books, including Tricks or Treats: A Realistic Look at Diet Fraud and Weight Loss Quackery in Our Nation. The topics explored in this, her most recent book, include illegal behavior on the part of the paparazzi, mistakes made by Child Services departments who have played a key role in keeping Spears away from her kids, and the psychological devastation that is caused by the constant invasion of any person’s privacy.
“Britney Jean Spears is counted among the most popular entertainers of a new generation. She has sold over eighty million albums and given seven world tours, but within these pages you will find the tragic story of a young mother who has been swept away by her fame and carried to a place where she can’t live a healthy life. Dedicated to her young children, the book you see before you is a shameless, emotional plea to the American public: Give our Hollywood stars respect. For the first time, the falsehoods of a vicious industry are candidly exposed in a touching narrative that explores the truth about why Britney was hospitalized, the reasons for her strange behavior, the truth about her ex-husband, and most of all, the terrible impact that being seen as a commodity has had on a young mother’s life.”
“Womanizer”, the debut single from Britney Spears’ latest album Circus, climbed up to the #1 spot of iTunes Top Downloads chart in less than 24 hours upon it’s release last Tuesday and has not moved since.
A final sales tally won’t be available until Thursday, but predictions are estimating sales of over 250,000 downloads through iTunes and other digital outlets including Amazon, Rhapsody and Walmart. A racy new video, which premiered Friday night and already has over 3 million online views, should propel its sales and could possibly keep it at #1 for another week.
Rapper T.I., whose latest album Paper Trail was just released last week, scores 2 chart-topping singles with “Live Your Life” featuring Rihanna at #2 and “Whatever You Like,” moving down to #6, respectively. “Live Your Life” is the current #1 Hot 100 Billboard single, while “Whatever You Like” is #2. Once sales and airplay are factored together, T.I.’s two monster singles and Spears’ debut should round out the Top 3 singles at Billboard.
Former #1 “So What” by pop artist Pink is still strong at #3 on iTunes, while the latest single by “I Kissed A Girl” singer Katy Perry, “Hot ‘N Cold”, is currently in the #4 spot. Newcomer Kevin Rudolf’s single, “Let It Rock,” featuring rapper Lil’ Wayne continues steady on the iTunes chart at #5.
Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” hits its highest placement so far on the chart at #7, while Kanye West tribal love song “Love Lockdown” is at #8. Nickelback’s new single, “Gotta Be Somebody,” off their upcoming album is steadily rising up the chart at #9.
