It’s no wonder Britney Spears’s 29th birthday getaway with beau Jason Trawick was so romantic.
In a spacious, beautiful villa overlooking on the ocean, the couple had a chance to be completely alone while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
“It was super, super private,” a source tells PEOPLE of Spears and Trawick’s stay. “They didn’t worry about paparazzi or anything. It was just them being able to be themselves, together.”
Adds the source, “In a huge, amazing house, it was a total romantic birthday getaway.”
But aside from the romance, food played a major role in the duo’s getaway.
“The fridge was stocked with local fruits because Britney likes to have smoothies in the morning,” the source says. “And they had a private chef to cook them whatever they wanted.”
Being in Mexico, the lovebirds enjoyed authentic treats of the country. “[The chef's] specialty is Mexican,” the source says. “So they had some great Mexican dinners.”
