Britney Spears: I’m Looking For ‘Spark & Spunk’ On The X Factor
Posted at Jun. 19th, 2012 by Nat • No Comments • Category: General News

“The X Factor” judges Britney Spears, L.A. Reid and Demi Lovato didn’t find the talent they were looking for during their time in Kansas City last week, but that might have changed with a stop in San Francisco.

“Definitely better than Kansas city,” Demi said, when asked by a show crew about the talent the judging panel has seen in the Bay Area.

“It’s been fun, it’s been a lot of fun,” an enthusiastic Britney said of the audition rounds.

As for what Britney is hoping to find, the pop star said she wants someone who will shine.

“I’m looking for someone who shows spark and spunk… [and that] they’re meant to do what they’re doing,” the singer explained. “I think I’m a fair judge. Sometimes it’s kind of hard because I know what they’ve been through and being so young… it’s such a delicate situation when they’re that young.

“You just have to use constructive criticism and be there for them and show them support,” Britney continued.

And despite reports that the “I Wanna Go” singer is the hardest to impress, Brit said that title still belongs to “The X Factor’s” head honcho.

“I don’t think I’m the toughest judge at all,” she said. “I definitely think Simon would have to be the toughest judge.”

In addition to Simon’s reality-checking feedback, Demi explained that she’s known to serve up a dish that might be hard for some contestants to swallow.

“My judging style is very honest, sometimes I worry that I’m too harsh… I really just say it like it is. I’m not considered the nice judge or the mean judge,” Demi said. “It’s really hard for me to smile if they’re performing and they’re horrible.”

Adding, “I have to be super, super honest and sometimes I feel bad about it.”

“The X Factor” returns for Season 2 this fall on FOX.
